As a trainer working with the LGFCU Fellows program since 2018, Patrick does a great job translating resiliency research into practical take-ways that participants can implement immediately. Additionally, his delivery and teaching methodology keeps participants engaged and interacting with each other. We often receive feedback on the ways that Fellows were able to implement what they learned in their own lives, as well as with their teams.
I’ve also worked with Patrick in a consulting role, serving together as advisors for a Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation-funded effort in Eastern North Carolina. Our Duke GU Clinical Oncology team has been working with Patrick Jeffs, PhD and the Resiliency Solution since the start of the pandemic. Over this time he has counselled us on both individual and interpersonal resiliency as well as care redesign, creating a more egalitarian work flow. At a time when most places have struggled with burnout and low morale, he has personally transformed our workplace and work culture. Incredibly, everyone in our group, from medical assistants and schedulers to physicians and APPs have bought in. We’ve still struggled with high attrition and staff shortages, but the positive interpersonal support he has instilled has been a life-saver. Dr. Patrick Jeffs hosted a Workplace Resiliency Training Seminar with our Chamber last year that was phenomenal. His one-day teaching has given me practical tools I use almost every day. Before his seminar, I never realized how chronic stress had an impact on not just me, but my colleagues, clients, and family too. Now I’m armed with awareness and have easy actions I can take to counter-balance natural stress cycles. I’ve had the opportunity to attend a specialized training by Dr. Patrick Jeffs with The Resiliency Solution. Not only did Dr. Jeffs take the time to customize the presentation to the audience (mental health clinicians), he asked for feedback before the presentation to incorporate within the discussion.
